TPR is tougher and more flexible than some other backing materials (like basic latex or glue), so it won’t crack, peel, or become brittle easily over time. That means the mat stays flatter and lasts longer.

 Floor Protection

The backing protects the surface beneath (wood, tile, vinyl) from scratches and wear caused by repeated foot traffic.

 Comfort & Flexibility

Because TPR is slightly flexible, it gives a bit of grip and comfort underfoot, and the mat is easier to roll up or move when cleaning.

 Easy to Clean

Many mats with TPR backing can be shaken out, vacuumed, or wiped down — and some even tolerate gentle washing without the backing coming apart.
